Veterinary Ambulance Service in Kerala, at first in India

The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) Pookode, Vayanad district, will launch a veterinary ambulance service with modern facilities in the district, a first in the country.



The features of the veterinary ambulance

* Temperature controlled operation theater and facility for emergency surgery.

* Hydraulic operation table

* One-tonne hydraulic lift to lift heavy animals

* Temperature controlled storage facility for vaccines and diagnostic equipment

* Portable ultra sound and x-ray machines

* Oxygen cylinders

* Generator

* UPS

* ECG

* Vaccines and emergency laboratory facilities for testing milk, blood, urine and dung. 

* Overhead water tank

It was designed by a team of veterinary experts of the KVASU led by dr. Suryadas.
